Smartphones have become synonymous with modern-day living. From organising your life to finding your away around, connecting with others and so much more. Can you even imagine life without your trusty pocket assistant?
Smartphone technology just keeps on improving. One of the latest trends is foldable devices, but there is so much more expected to come our way in 2020. Here’s a list of 5 smartphones that might be hitting the market next year, in no particular order:
1. OnePlus 8
Since the launch of the OnePlus 1 in 2014, OnePlus has released new smartphones every year. The company recently unveiled the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, so it is reasonable to expect the release of the OnePlus 8 in 2020.
As the company usually releases two different models simultaneously, we can most likely expect two new smart devices from them next year.
We expect the new OnePlus offerings to include an improved camera, bigger battery and larger display. OnePlus smartphone cameras definitely have some room for improvement, and we expect them to cross the breach in 2020.
It is also likely that the smartphones will have an improved HDR display, enhancing your video watching and streaming experience.
2. Apple iPhone XII
Apple has been working on the next big thing in AI chip technology – bionic chips. These chips are expected to accelerate AI-powered processes, making smartphones more intuitive and improving personalised features. It is expected that this new-and-improved AI tech will be incorporated in Apple’s 2020 releases.
3. Samsung Galaxy S11
Reported to be the world’s first completely bezel-less smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S11 will be a sleek and exciting device. But, you might be wondering, if it is going to be a bezel-less device, where will the front camera, charging port and head jack go? Rumour has it that the device may feature an under-display camera, in-display fingerprint sensor, wireless charging and wireless earphones.
4. Moto Razr V4
With 130 million units sold in four years, Motorola’s Razr clamshell phone was a big hit – claiming the title of the bestselling clamshell phone in the world. And now the Motorola Razr is making a comeback – reportedly with a $1 500 price tag.
The Razr V4 will be a foldable smartphone, and patent images reveal a dual display with a secondary display at the centre and a camera on the upper half of the rear side. The OLED-based design will facilitate the clamshell approach.
5. Xiaomi Mi Flex
The foldable smartphone trend seems to only be gaining steam – so will Xiaomi become the first Chinese company to release a foldable smartphone?
Utilising innovative design, the Xiaomi Mi Flex is expected to have a high-end processor, triple camera setup, pop-up selfie camera and hidden earpiece – all in a sleek package. It is reported that the smartphone will run on Android 9.0 Pie, and be available at a much more affordable price than most other flagship smartphones.
