1. First: Spring cleaning

Is there anything more infuriating than sifting through thousands of emails in search of something specific? It goes without saying that organising your emails is the first step to greater efficiency within this webmail server. Outlook lets users organise emails into folders that work intuitively for them, saving time when you’re short on it.

2. Avoid procrastination by scheduling emails ahead of time

So, you’ve got five minutes and consider composing that important email you need to send to so-and-so tomorrow. Instead of leaving it for tomorrow, free up five minutes in the future by composing the email and scheduling it to be sent the next day. Simply compose your mail, then click on Options > Delay Delivery > Do not deliver before, and select the date and time when the email should be sent.

3. Create reminders effortlessly

How many things do you neglect to do because you forget about them as soon as you’ve closed the email that informed you of them? In Outlook, simply press Ctrl + Shift + N in Outlook to instantly create a new note that you can drag or position anywhere on your screen as a reminder.

4. Prioritise what deserves your immediate attention

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the sheer amount of emails most of us get on a single day. With Microsoft Outlook, you can ensure that your attention isn’t divided between important tasks and unimportant email notifications. Turn desktop alerts off by heading to File > Options > Mail Options, and create a custom rule to display email alerts only if they come from specific contacts.

5. Read long threads with ease

We often waste time in the office by trying to make sense of long email friends. Make these more digestible and easier to read by displaying all the messages in a single conversation view. To tweak this setting, click View > Show as Conversations.
