Everyone knows that the internet is really only there for memes of cats. The internet loves all cats, but last week, the undisputed online feline leader, Grumpy Cat, passed away.
Known as Tardar Sauce by her owner Tabatha Bundesen, Grumpy Cat went viral in 2012 after pictures of her less-than-friendly expression, caused by feline dwarfism and an underbite, were posted online.
In the years that followed, Grumpy Cat became a staple of internet culture, and even starred in her own Christmas film in 2014, in which she was voiced by Parks and Recreation star, Aubrey Plaza.
Grumpy Cat’s owners mourned her passing from complications associated with a urinary tract infection in a Twitter post on 17 May.
