Mobile manufacturing giant, Apple, has announced a new competition for iPhone users that puts their photography skills to the test.
The Shot on iPhone Challenge will be running from 22 January to 7 February, and submissions are open all across the world, with the only requirement being that entrants submit photos that were taken using an iPhone. Photos may be edited with Apple’s editing tools in the Photos app or with third-party photo editing software. No hardware attachments may be used.
After an outcry from artists worldwide, Apple has also announced that winners will be paid a licensing fee for the use of their images in marketing campaigns and in Apple stores.
A number of renowned photographers will be tasked with choosing the 10 winning photos, and entrants may submit their photos via Instagram, Twitter or Weibo, using the hashtag #ShotOniPhone, or can email entries to email@example.com.
