Adding to their Social Tickets offering, Vodacom has announced that it is launching new, cheaper data bundles catering specifically for sports buffs. Partnering with SuperSport and DStv Now, the data bundles will give users a more cost-efficient way to watch sporting events.

Vodacom’s Sports Tickets are the latest addition to the company’s Social Tickets promotion, which is available to Vodacom Prepaid and Top Up customers who are also DStv subscribers. Sports Tickets are data bundles that can only be used on the DStv Now app (available for Apple and Android devices), which comes free with DStv Premium, DStv Compact Plus and DStv Compact subscriptions.

The bundles are available in three sizes:

• 500MB (2 hours of viewing on DStv Now at 360p quality), valid for 24 hours, costs R12.00.
• 1GB (4 hours of viewing on DStv Now at 360p quality), valid for 7 days, costs R31.50.
• 2GB (9 hours of viewing on DStv Now at 360p quality), valid for 7 days, costs R56.00.

When announcing the new offer, Vodacom’s Chief Officer: Consumer Business Unit, Nyimpini Mabunda, said: “South Africa has a strong, proud sporting heritage and culture that brings people together. Through Vodacom Sports Ticket, we will give fans a super smart way to enjoy their favourite games, wherever they are, whilst making the most of their data. Sports Ticket gives fans what they want, at even greater value for their money.”

DStv subscribers who are also Vodacom Prepaid or Top Up customers can purchase Vodacom Sports Tickets by dialling *123# from their smartphone.
