For reasons completely unknown, Huawei is still often considered the underdog of smartphone brands. While Samsung and Apple continuously dominate the news headlines, Huawei is gaining massive market share, while reaping critic accolades. Huawei smartphones seem to be improving consistently and users very seldom regret purchasing this Chinese brand.
Earlier this month, Huawei launched their latest model, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, in South Africa.
“The world’s first Kirin AI processor brings you a faster, stronger, and seamless smartphone experience.”
The Mate 10 comes with the Kirin 970 processor. The Huawei processor boosts speed, responsiveness and efficiency through its AI computing platform with a dedicated NPU (Neural-Network Processing Unit). In essence, this Huawei model is really a super fast smartphone. (It also comes with an 8-core CPU and 12-core GPU.) The Kirin 970 is also designed to understand the way you use your smartphone. By better understanding and predicting your behaviour, it can ensure the most efficient modes to optimise performance.
“Full day use for heavy duty users with smart battery management.”
The Mate 10 Pro has a 4000 mAh battery with a smart battery management system that learns from your behaviour, to ensure the maximum use of battery life. According to Huawei, the typical user should get an entire day of usage after only 20 minutes of charging.
The 6-inch device comes with a Leica Dual Lens with f/1.6 aperture camera. The 20MP monochrome sensor and 12MP RGB sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation gives the Mate 10 Pro some serious photography power. The camera of the 10 Pro also automatically identifies various types of objects, like flowers, the sky, food, and so on. It can then adjust the brightness accordingly.
The smartphone also comes with a preinstalled translation app. With the real-time translation app, you can instantly translate text, voice, conversations, and images into 50+ languages.
The latest trend in smartphone tech is to try and bridge the gap between phone and desktop. The Pro 10 gives you the ability to use your device as a desktop by plugging it into a screen and connecting to a wireless mouse and keyboard.
“Stay connected wherever life takes you.”
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro has landed in South Africa just in time for the festive season, and if you are looking for something with even more style (and a higher price tag) make sure to have a look at the Porsche version of the Mate 10 Pro.
